I started exploring the idea of becoming a massage therapist in 2010 with the idea of providing mobile massage while on the road to supplement income earned from playing live music. After researching schools for a while, I narrowed the search down to 2 places, 1 in San Jose, CA, because I was living right down the road in Palo Alto, CA, and Carlson College of Massage Therapy in Anamosa, IA. I chose CCMT because it was a COMTA accredited school and offered about 250 more hours of education than the other school. I felt this would give me the best possible education.

Even though I received a several job offers in Iowa while in school, after graduating in July 2011, I returned to Texas to begin looking for employment. As soon as I received my Texas license, I chose to freelance at a small boutique in Houston, helping the owner who needed to fulfill a Groupon special she ran, while allowing myself enough time to take on private clients. As well as provide on-site massage for entities such as Canyon Lake Performing Arts Center in Canyon Lake, TX and Water 2 Wine in New Braunfels, TX.

My time back in Texas was short lived. During my training I had put out a few resumes to practice in Germany, where my children lived, & I had been contacted by several spas and sports facilities there. I sold everything of value and bought a 1 way ticket to Berlin in October 2011, I left with some clothes and a massage table. I had made a few contacts and was able to trade massage therapy for a room and soon began landing private clients. Luckily my first interview resulted in a job offer at the ONO Spa inside the 5 star Mandala Hotel.

During my 3 years at the ONO Spa, I worked on prominent personalities including actors, politicians, and well known musicians. Aside from working at the spa, I took private clients and worked trade shows, marathons, races etc. A small portion of my mobile clients have included:

TUI Travel Agency, NeckAttack, DerPart Professional Travel Agency, C&A Department Stores, Skoda Automotive, Several Private Clients, Several Offices and Conventions. Since graduating CCMT I have taken many continuing education classes and have been more and more impressed with the quality of my initial education. I am now a certified Medical Massage Practitioner in addition to offering Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Aroma Therapy massage.

Now residing in Lebanon, TN I am running my own office in Alter Ego Salon as well as taking clients in Franklin, TN.
